HandyDART is a crucial transportation link for people with disabilities and seniors who cannot use conventional transit for at least some trips. Over thirty years ago through lobbying and struggle, a group of people with disabilities fought for the human right of public transit for all.
The human right of public transportation for every member of society cannot be negotiated; HandyDART users and workers have joined hands in a long term battle to save this essential conduit to quality of life.
Save HandyDART is an initiative of Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) Local 1724. We are the operators, office workers, mechanics and road supervisors providing HandyDART custom transit service in TransLink’s Metro Vancouver service area.
